About Us

The Shoe Room was established in 1998 to share Canada's National Ballet School's pointe shoe fitting expertise with the broader community. The Shoe Room offers an extensive range of quality dance shoes, dance and active wear, music and books, and accessories. We carry the largest inventory of pointe shoes in Canada with over 7000 pairs on hand!

Pointe shoe fittings are conducted one on one with the dancer and our highly trained fitters to ensure we find the perfect shoe for each dancer. Wearing the right pointe shoe can change a dancer's career, and make their pointe work enjoyable!

Pointe shoe fittings are done by appointment only. It is necessary to book ahead to reserve a time. Weekend appointments may need to be booked at least three weeks in advance of the day desired. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT ONLINE!

Nadia Randall - General Manager

Nadia joined The Shoe Room in 2002 and has an extensive knowledge of the dance world. She herself began dancing at aged three and was primarily taught by her mother; an RAD examiner and faculty member of Canada's National Ballet School. Over the years Nadia has  played an integral part  guiding our NBS students towards their optimum choice of pointe shoes. She has travelled throughout North America  fitting both Professional Company dancers and students from  private studios. Her pointe shoe seminars, designed for teachers and students, have been invaluable.

Favourite thing about working at The Shoe Room: Leading a great team and watching the business evolve over the years. It is an honour to contribute, if only in a minor role, to a dancer's success.

Favourite product at The Shoe Room:  I love everything we carry but the AinslieWear Celeste - 3/4 Sleeve Leotard with Kara Lace is classic and elegant and a great for all figures and ages.
Also, the Ainsliewear Nadia leotard (for obvious reasons!) I love the edginess of the cut and the black mesh sleeves. ! I am very flattered that Ainsliewear named one of their designs after me.
